Places to Visit in Chail
Chail Palace has been built by Maharaja of Patiala Bhupinder Singh as his summer
retreat. He built this palace when he was exiled from Shimla by British Officer.
Chail Wildlife Sanctuary Established in 1976, it is one of the oldest sanctuaries
set in India. It has dark lush Deodar, Chir Pine and Oak trees in it, and animals
like Himalayan Black Bear, Red Deer, Barking Deer, Red Monkey, Leopard. Other species
like Rhesus, Macaque and a lot more.
Cricket Ground The world's highest cricket ground is located in Chail. It
is situated at high altitude of 2,144 m. This cricket ground was built in 1893 to
play cricket and Polo.
Baba Ka Mandir Siddh Baba Ka Mandir, another place of mystery that has been
built by none other than Maharaja of Patiala Bhupinder Singh when he saw a holy
person in his dream. Siddh Baba stopped him for building his palace at that place,
after which Maharaja stopped the construction of Palace and built the Siddh Baba
